The 400 and 800 ohm drivers can be used in series and parallel with superior ribbon tweeters to produce a frequency response from 25 hertz to 25 khz, well beyond human audio perception.
Though the speakers may have multiple drivers in the cabinets, there is only one capacitor to protect the tweeter so there are no losses or phase shifts as with a crossover network.
The speakers are time-aligned, phase coherent and very efficient--- as close to an ideal speaker as we can imagine and build.
